Orchids 101
Saturday, May 6, 10am to 12pm
What do you do when the label on your beautiful orchid says “easy to care for,” but your experience tells a different story? Before you toss it into the compost pile, join former horticulturist Jo Phillips as she goes over the basics of caring for Phaleonopsis orchids. Topics will include how to choose the right potting mixture, preferred fertilizers, creating the right environment to ensure blooming, and dealing with possible pests. Participants will each take home a beautiful orchid. If you have an orchid that you would like help with, feel free to bring it as well. $45 per person.
Workshop fees include supplies and refreshments. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Members may register for workshops upon receipt of the Portico newsletter. Registration for non-members begins Friday, January 20. Call (706) 882-3242 or email info@hillsanddales.org to register. Annual members receive a 20% discount unless otherwise noted.
